Houghton Revisited, Norfolk

My husband and I Duncan Kerridge were asked to photograph the launch of the Houghton Revisited Exhibition at Houghton Hall in Norfolk a couple of weeks ago. It was a last minute booking, with our break in Scotland coming up, you know how it goes. But we couldn’t miss this – it was amazing. If you’re thinking of going I suggest you stop thinking and go. So we were there to document the Opening Dinner on the Wednesday, and I went back the following day to photograph Prince Charles at the official opening. It’s funny, you never know where this work is going to take you, what an amazing couple of days. Thank you Sarah Softley for another Great Event, it was a privilege to work with you there! Enjoy:

Sometimes I’m very organised and manage to get two shoots in the diary within a few miles of each other in the diary…last weekend was one such rare occasion. I photographed the boys’ parents wedding day some years ago at Somerleyton Hall when Dillon was tiny, so it was lovely to see him now a growing boy, with a younger brother, bonus! They seem to be very different characters, and both extremely beautiful. So I wasn’t short of inspiration here. It was great to catch them playing with their favourite things (especially the trampoline/bed!) and being read to. Thank you guys for having me come and play! Enjoy these:

So, another year has passed since I saw little Mani, and I can comfortably say he’s not so little anymore. It was great to see him in his new home, moving in hadn’t quite happened, but a lot of hard work in the house and garden gave us a beautiful space to work with! Though Mani did need to be encouraged away from the rubbish accumulating outside. Rubbish is so fascinating to children! Was great to see you all again. And to see Mani growing into those big, inquisitive eyes of his as he admired the view from his new bedroom window. Hope the move has gone well today, guys! Congratulations! Enjoy these:

A Suffolk watermill

I was delighted to be asked to document a Suffolk mill house while it changes and evolves in the hands of its new owners. It’s in a beautiful spot, the water mill still works, very well, and it was a real treat for me to record the place, especially the details of the house itself before change happens. I hope to document this from completion (which happened just over a week ago?) to completion of the project – fantastic! I have a soft spot for watermills. Especially Suffolk watermills. I am one lucky photographer – thank you Jacqui and Richard for thinking of me – hope you enjoy these, more to come!
