Norfolk Family Photography
I’ve been looking forward to this Norfolk family photography shoot! The weather was so sunny, so warm this May bank holiday, great timing for this family shoot with Emma & Tom.
It was a pleasure to be back in the family garden, the backdrop for Emma & Tom’s wedding a few years ago, or a couple of lifetimes ago for their two little girls.
My favourite way of photography with children is to observe them. It’s the way I work at weddings, too. I’m more of an observer than a director, it’s just the way it is. So my family photography is natural on the whole. Kids don’t like to be tied down, and you wouldn’t want to look at photographs of your children tied down would you? The aim is for natural family photographs that really show the true essence of the children’s personalities. It always amazes me how different personalities can be from the same set of genes. These girls were such fun. I do my best to bring a variety of images of the children together and as individuals.
It’s great to have something to hand that the children are into. That gives them focus. If it’s one thing that they both want then we get some fascinating insight into the pecking order of siblings, some great expressions and plenty of mischief! It’s lovely to include parents if they’re up for it, too. Would you be up for your family photoshoot to include yourselves? I’ve found that parents can’t wait to be in shot for the first baby photographs.
The garden is the girls’ grandparents. They’re a welcoming family, and it felt great to be there again. The garden is absolutely beautiful, with different areas
Great to see you again! Enjoy these. More to come very, very soon:
